Camille's Care Packages

Because every baby matters, and every family deserves to be remembered.

The Camille Connection's care packages were created in memory of our daughter, Camille, to offer comfort and compassion to families experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infant loss.

The loss of a baby changes a family forever. In the midst of grief, even the simplest everyday tasks can feel overwhelming. A thoughtfully assembled care package cannot take away that pain, but it can offer practical comforts, meaningful keepsakes, and a reminder that a family's baby matters and their loss has not been forgotten.

Thoughtful Care, in Every Detail

Each care package brings together practical items and meaningful reminders, chosen with the understanding that families navigating loss need both compassion and acknowledgment.

Practical comforts include items such as dry shampoo, hair ties, shower wipes, lotion, lip balm, and phone chargers. These everyday essentials are intended to offer a little practical support during an incredibly difficult time.

Meaningful keepsakes may include sun catchers, forget-me-not seeds, hand and footprint ink pads, clay for hand and footprint molds, and memory jewelry—small reminders of love, remembrance, and the enduring connection between a family and their baby. 

Items for the baby may include a baby outfit, booties and a lovey, honoring the little life at the center of a family's grief.

The specific items may vary from package to package. Each is assembled with care and with the hope of offering something meaningful to a family experiencing loss.

No two grief journeys are identical. Our intention is not to fix grief or find the right words for an unimaginable loss, but to offer a tangible expression of compassion when it matters.

How It Began

What began as a way to honor Camille became an opportunity to extend compassion to other families.

For Camille's third birthday, I initially planned to assemble one care package in her memory. With the generosity of others, that one package became three.

The packages were donated to the hospital where Camille was born, and all three were used within a month.

That experience reinforced the importance of providing thoughtful support to families experiencing the loss of a baby. It also gave The Camille Connection a meaningful place to begin.

Where We're Starting — and Where We're Going

The Camille Connection is in the early stages of developing this care package initiative. Our first donation was a small but meaningful beginning, and we hope to build on that foundation.

Currently, care packages are distributed through the hospital. Looking ahead, we hope to explore opportunities to make them available more consistently by building relationships with hospitals, bereavement care teams, and organizations that share a commitment to supporting families after pregnancy and infant loss.

We believe collaboration can help us better understand the needs of families and healthcare professionals and explore how thoughtful care packages can complement the support already being offered.

Our goal is to grow this initiative with intention, compassion, and respect for the families and professionals who make this work possible.
