Hi, I'm Catherine. I'm a wife, a mom, and the person behind The Camille Connection.
I'm also a mom of six.
Jack and Claire are my two living children, and Charlotte, Jonah, Kit, and Camille are the four babies I've lost. They are all my children, and all six are part of who I am. My life as a mother has held some of my greatest joys and some of my deepest heartbreak, often in ways that are difficult to explain unless you've experienced pregnancy loss yourself.
My husband, Jeremy, has experienced these losses, too. We are parents to all six of our children, and losing four of our babies has changed our family in ways that are hard to put into words. Grief looks different for everyone, even when you're grieving the same child. But our babies will always be part of our family and our story.
I lost Charlotte in 2019, Jonah in 2022, and Kit in 2024. Then, on September 15, 2023, we lost our daughter Camille at 39 weeks to stillbirth.
Losing Camille just four days before being scheduled to meet her changed me indefinitely. There is no easy way to describe leaving the hospital without your baby, or learning how to live in a world where someone you love so much should be. The world keeps moving, even when yours feels like it has stopped. Eventually, people return to their routines, but you are still a parent missing your child. You still remember. You still wonder about the life you thought you'd have.
And you still have to figure out how to keep living.
I don't have grief figured out. I'm not going to tell you that everything happens for a reason or that losing my babies made me a better person. I would give anything to have them here. No project, no accomplishment, and no amount of good I could do for another family would ever change that.
But I also know what it feels like to need someone to show up for you. To need people to remember your baby, say their name, and understand that your loss doesn't have an expiration date.
That's why I'm creating The Camille Connection.
I want families experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infant loss to feel less alone. I want to offer care packages that bring a little comfort during an impossibly difficult time. I want parents to know their babies matter, their grief matters, and they don't have to pretend they're okay just to make other people comfortable.
And I want us to do more over time—to help people understand how to support grieving families, raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss, and contribute to efforts that improve bereavement care and help prevent future losses.
I can't change what happened to my family. I can't bring my babies home. But I can take the love I have for them and use it to reach another family who might need someone to remind them that they're not alone.
Camille is at the heart of this project, but she isn't the only child I'm carrying with me. Charlotte, Jonah, and Kit are part of this, too. And Jeremy, Jack, and Claire are part of the family behind it.
I'm not building The Camille Connection because I've found some perfect way to live with loss. I'm building it because I know how much it matters when someone cares enough to show up.
If we can help even one family feel seen, remembered, and a little less alone, then we're doing something meaningful.
Thank you for being here, for learning about our family, and for helping me carry this love forward.
